Dr. Janeide A. Matthews-Chillis, Author, Entrepreneur, Mentor, Minister, Motivational Speaker, Publisher re-dedicated her life back to the Lord in 1983, where she was an active member of her family church, Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Gadson L. Graham.  At Canaan she participated in the Canaan Youth Choir, the Usher Board and launched IOP (Inspiration of Praise) Young Adult Choir, Media Ministry and the Praise Dance Ministry.

Janeide was called into ministry at an early age and finally surrender her life to the Lord, took heed to the Masters call, and made the decision to walk in her purpose.  While recovering from a stroke sustained in 2007, she started her own “Outreach Ministry” StepRite.  Through this experience and God’s inspiration, she began her journey as an author, mentor, and public speaker.  She is a determined self-publisher, and writer. Janeide is the Founder and CEO of StepRite, a corporation that provides event-planning, youth programs, outreach ministries, spiritual direction and publishing services. She was licensed to Minister the Word of God through American Fellowship Church in 2011. In 2012 she was licensed to preach the Gospel by her Pastor, the Rev. Cedric J. Mc Koy of the Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Newark, NJ where she serves as Youth Minister, President of Hospitality, and VP of Seeds of Sarah Women’s Ministry.

 

God’s grace and life experience has honed her innate quality of being a good listener and identifying with people, and inspiring those she encounter.  This indisputable quality is demonstrated throughout her unwavering commitment and service in her community.  Minister Chillis served, and is active on many Boards and Associations, which include the Irvington Board of Directors under Wayne Smith, and Sandra Jones. NJ Notary, Kean Alumni Ministry, Christ Crusade, Food Bank of New Jersey (Hillside), Toys for Tots Foundation, YDP (Youth Development Program), Free Teens, USA, and Master Orientation Leader of Alpha Nu Omega, Inc.

Janeide embraces her journey of service to God’s people. She has traveled the world embracing the Gospel. She has preached and studied Christian Theology, and the importance of “Akwaaba” in Africa, worked with the Children Orphanage in Dominican Republic. Studied the Orality of Religion in Jamaica under Dr. Spencer-Miller. Embarked on a journey to North and South Korea studying Christianity in other cultures. Janeide has completed a summer intern in Texas 2015. She embarked on a 12 day trip to Israel, 2017.

Janeide is a recent graduate of Drew University. She received her Master of Divinity Degree and Certification for Spiritual Direction on May 16, 2015. She also received her BA in Communications/Religion Studies & BS in Marketing from Kean University 2012. She also receiver her degree in Sacred Theological Master's at Drew University, Madison NJ May 2016. She was honored with an Honorary Doctorates at CICA Seminary and Theological School, March 4, 2016. Her future goal is to open up a private practice, supporting domestic violence, hunger, depression, self-esteem, youth, marriage, spiritual direction, the importance of going green and fulfill her call to Evangelize and equip the people of God, provided by outreach services through StepRite for God Ministries, and JMC Ministries, Inc. A Non-Profit Organization.
